Anney is a vocalist, pianist, director and teacher working throughout Northeast Ohio. She owns a private lesson studio located in Canton, where she and her staff provide services in Voice (Classical and Contemporary), Piano, Woodwinds and Acting. In addition to teaching and consulting at several area schools, Anney also devotes her time giving back to the community. She performs and directs at Akron Children’s Hospital in addition to working with the Doggie Brigade
One of the primary goals that Anney has in her work as a performing artist is to be the face and voice for diversity on the stage and behind the scenes. The discussion about race, ethnicity in casting is one that is happening throughout the theatre community at large and Anney seeks to see that impact the local theatre and performing arts communities as well.
Anney also devotes much of her time to furthering her knowledge and understanding of the issues associated with singing in multiple genres, and with teaching singing, both with classical and with CCM pedagogy. She has completed all three levels of Somatic Voicework at Baldwin Wallace with Jeanie LoVetri, as well as attended special topic offerings in Singing Health. She is also an active member of several professional organizations including The Voice Foundation, MTNA, NATS and OMEA
